One thing that I noticed during a recent trip to the Egg Harbor/Atlantic City, New Jersey area is dominated by family owned restaurants and the lack of the usual suspects, the chain restaurants I see so often elsewhere.
The group of fine fellows, and ladies, that have become my travel partners in recent months would agree that the restaurants I'm about to list are likely the best in the Greater Egg Harbor, New Jersey area. If not the "best" they might be the most "popular". If not the most popular then at least worth considering during your next trip to the south Jersey shore. This is especially true if you are vegan, which I am not. I didn't have the foresight to take pictures of the food during trips to all the restaurants so the few that I did take will have to do.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty small but the portions are huge. You can't go wrong here if you're looking for Lasagna, my dinner of choice.

Dinners at Sugar Hill Sub & Deli seem to prefer to get their sandwiches to-go. Those who choose to dine on-site may sit at one of the few small tables inside the sub-shop or one of several picnic tables outside by the parking lot.

I'm sure that there are other fine restaurants located nearby but we didn't have the time to visit them all. As you might expect with a bunch of guys, once we found a place we liked we typically went here several times. As a caveat, you must know that I will eat just about anything except English peas, which I hate, and Brussel sprouts, which I also hate, and asparagus, and cooked carrots, and creamed corn, and well, you get the idea!
I hate English peas so much so that my brothers and I ran away from home instead of eating the mushy, nasty green pellets of puss. A nice policeman found us crossing a bridge on foot in Jacksonville, FL. He told us to get into his police car, drove to a local diner, fed us french fries as we waited for my mom to pick us up. I think our parents got the point regarding the peas!
